Build Your Own Event...
Many customers visit Wedgnock and take part in a mixed activity event. These are usually half day or full day events involving several different activities. The group will be divided down into teams that circulate around the different activities.
This page explains how a mixed activity event is built using four steps. Follow each step through to build your own event and to get an idea of cost.
The structure of the event is determined by the number of guests and the available time.
Number of Guests...
Adventure Sports works on a ratio of one activity for every six or seven guests. This ensures the optimal balance of activity time and socialising time. The number of guests will therefore determine the minimum number of activities required (for example 24 guests will need a minimum of four activities).
The table below is suitable for groups of up to 56 guests. For larger groups please contact the office and we can design an event to work for any number of guests.
Time...
Each activity will keep a team occupied for between 40 and 60 minutes. During a half day you will generally require four activities and in a full day seven activities.

A variety of activities can be incorporated into an event including driving, shooting and team building events. Click on any of the following images for a description of the activity.
Each guest will be given expert tuition on how to drive and control a Camel Trophy Landrover. A challenging course is used that incorporates inclines, descents, water splashes and lots of mud.
A CPSA qualified instructor will take the team through the basics of shooting Clay Pigeons. Each individual will use a shotgun to shoot at a variety of clay targets (these can include Bolting Rabbit, Springing Teal, Crossing Targets and Going away Targets).
The team is equipped with 50 milk crates with which they must form the tallest tower possible. The tower must hold the weight of one team member at its summit (they are connected to a safety line for when the tower eventually falls over).
Drive these 250 cc four wheeled motorbikes around a challenging obstacle course incorporating limbo bars and tight corners. The competitors are scored depending on their driving ability and skill.
Teams will spend half of their time slot on each discipline. Traditional paper targets will test the ability of marksmen on the Air Rifles whilst turning targets provide a fun element to the Pistol section.
An experienced archery instructor will take the guests through a series of practice sessions and scored competition rounds using Recurve Longbows.
Argo Cats are six wheeled vehicles designed to go almost anywhere. Their small size makes them highly manoeuvrable and fun to drive, whilst their skid steer control system adds a challenge to this unusual activity.
This converted Jeep provides one of the funniest activities you will ever experience. The objective is to drive the car through a series of snooker ball coloured gates accumulating the highest break possible along the way. The problem is when the car is steered left it will go right and throw a couple of blindfolds in – the result is hilarious!
This unusual vehicle is powered by two 195 cc engines. Each engine provides power to one side of the vehicle. The control lever in the drivers left hand controls the left-hand engine and the right hand lever controls the right hand engine. A pair of wheels sits at the front and back of the vehicle for stability. The vehicle is capable of incredible turns, dramatic wheelies and impressive acceleration.
During a full day event the guests will certainly need some catering at lunch time. Morning events often start off with bacon rolls, whilst afternoon activities can be rounded off nicely with some home made cakes.
During the colder times of year having tea / coffee available throughout is recommended. Refreshing cold drinks (chilled cans of drink and bottled water) tend to be a favourite at any time of year.
