Big Boys Toys...

The Big Boys Toys package is ideal for the group who have done all the usual activities before. The format involves the guests driving or controlling a variety of BIG vehicles under the careful supervision of experienced instructors.

The event is very flexible regarding duration. For a small group of up to 18 guests a half-day session works well – three teams circulating around three activities.

For a full day event, six activities can be incorporated. For larger groups the activities can simply be doubled up.

JCB DiggerJCB Challenge...

This is a true test of skill. Each team will try to dig a hole as deep as possible using the articulated arm on the rear of a JCB. The arm is controlled using a series of hydraulic rams. Hand controls command the rams making this a true test of hand-eye co-ordination.

Dumper Truck9 Tonne Dumper Truck...

These vehicles are used to transport earth, rubble and sand around building sites. Capable of carrying 9 tonnes at a time they are impressive bits of kit. The participants will drive the vehicles around a mud track and then tip the contents of the bucket (a  football) into a collection bin. Scores will be awarded for the number of balls collected.

Articulated LorryThe Yorkie Bar Experience...

Drive this monster 40 foot articulated lorry around our internal roads and have a go at reversing – it’ll make you appreciate those boys delivering in towns! Everyone has always wanted to have a go at being a trucker – go on, admit it!

Offroad ForkliftOff Road Forklift...

This incredibly versatile vehicle can be seen on construction sites and farmyards across the world.  They have the lifting abilities of a forklift truck and the off road ability of a Landrover combined into one vehicle. The challenge is to lift a loaded pallet from the ground and place it on top of a seven metre high platform.

Tractor DrivingTractor...

Drive a four wheel drive tractor towing a 30 foot wide set of rolls around a challenging course. These vehicles are designed for the harshest conditions and can prove to be a real challenge to drive. This behemoth will put the best drivers steering to the test.

360 Degree Excavator360 Excavator...

The 360° digger is the king of the construction site. These huge machines can scoop up tonnes of soil at a time and swivel on the spot.

The challenge is to dig a hole using the articulated arm, controlled by two joysticks in the cab. This is a true test of co-ordination.

Armoured Personnel Carrier DrivingArmoured Personnel Carrier...

These 15 tonne armoured vehicles are highly manoeuvrable and provide the feeling of real power. The dips, turns and slopes allow the potential of these vehicles to be exposed. There is space for up to six people to ride in the back allowing the whole team to experience the driving skill (or lack of it) of the driver.

Costs

The cost for a Big Boys Toys event will depend on the number of activities involved and the actual activities chosen.  The following table indicates the minimum number of activities required for various sizes of group and a price guide.

Catering

A wide variety of catering options are available. A suggested combination would include:

  • Tea / coffee throughout the event
  • Bacon rolls and orange juice upon arrival
  • Steak barbecue lunch
  • Treacle sponge pudding
  • Afternoon tea with home made cakes
