Military Themed Events...
Driving big military vehicles and shooting guns has always proved to be a popular option for corporate entertainment. Military theme events offer your guests the opportunity to try some very unusual military style activities such as tank driving, pistol shooting and unarmed combat.
For those who are looking to spice up a meeting our "Operation Liberty"
(PDF 176k) event proves to be fine choice.
Alternatively any of the following activities can be incorporated into a Mixed Activity event. Suitable theming can be incorporated including camouflage overalls, mess tents, Sergeant Major briefings and camo face paint.
Armoured Personnel Carrier Driving
These 15 tonne armoured vehicles are highly manoeuvrable and provide the feeling of real power. The dips, turns and slopes allow the potential of these vehicles to be exposed. There is space for up to six people to ride in the back allowing the whole team to experience the driving skill (or lack of it) of the driver.
Stalwart
This 12 tonne, six-wheeled military vehicle is designed to support Main Battle Tanks in the field. Its six wheel drive and four wheel steering allows the Stalwart to handle any terrain with ease. An exhilarating experience!
4x4 Off Road Driving
Each guest will be given expert tuition on how to drive and control a Camel Trophy Landrover. A challenging course is used that incorporates inclines, descents, water splashes and lots of mud.
Air Weapon Shooting
Ten shot Smith & Wesson revolvers are used to test the marksmanship of the team. These state of the art pistols are powered by Carbon Dioxide gas and allow pinpoint accuracy using single shots against paper targets or rapid fire in a speed based competition.
Black Powder Musket Shooting
Guests will take turns to load and fire these antique firearms. The technique of loading and ramming the correct amount of gun powder and lead shot will be demonstrated and applied by the participants before being fired against moving Clay Pigeon targets.
Breacher’s Buoy
An object must be recovered from the middle of a toxic swamp. The only way to do this is by suspending one of the team members above the pond in a climbing harness (about 50% actually go into the swamp).
Electric Fence
Retrieve the valuable electronic equipment from within the compound protected by an electric fence, minefield and trip wires. Limited equipment is available requiring a cunning solution to be devised.
UXB
A large unexploded bomb must be defused before the timer reaches zero. The bomb must be recovered from its resting-place and defused. Nerves of steel are required for this task.
Search and Destroy
Following a safety briefing the guests will be challenged with tracking down and shooting members of the opposite team using Paintball Guns. The opposition shoot back, making the activity both enjoyable and stimulating.
Survival Tactics
This section involves a display of shelters, traps and cooking methods with a description of construction routines. An interactive talk about the principles of survival will be given and the teams will compete by constructing a shelter and starting a fire, marks being given for the effort and style.
Unarmed Combat
An incredibly useful activity where you learn how to defend yourself against an attacker. It is easy to parallel this military based discipline with potential encounters on a city street.
